Our plan is to create a professional platform for players, and use the platform to prepare young soccer players for professional tournaments. Africa has a numerous number of soccer development academies, soccer schools and soccer development clubs. Almost in each and every country in Africa there is a handful number of professional soccer development initiatives taking place, however there are a limited number of professional platforms, established to enhance the holistic development of youth in soccer. This makes the system becomes congested, and creates a high rising frustration of soccer players who become exhausted and end up throwing the towel, due to age restrictions on soccer life cycle.
Beside the soccer activities often taking place at a grassroots level, which is often referred to as ‘ubhuqu” a Zulu word meaning the dusty grounds, CAF through its Continental Development Framework, with limited professional platforms for soccer development, this creates a congestion for soccer development at grassroots level, as we often see very few if not none soccer players becoming champions in decades.
With millions of soccer wannabe’s at grassroots, we can never have enough platform, the establishment of CCA although may seem like a drop in the ocean but it will create a massive differences in the lives of soccer lovers. The plan is to have CCA tournaments, with teams playing at National, Regional and continental levels, where teams from different provinces will clash to fight for a space, towards the tournament’s champions crowning glory. This allows for those players or teams not deemed good enough for professional levels be afforded another chance to still play at an armature but yet professional level to develop their talents. The division is very competitive and contains 32 teams at a continental platform, with over 200 other teams spread throughout the continent that will be part of the CCA 2nd division at their respective regional, national, provinces, or local levels.
Being part of professional sporting programs can help create confidence amongst the youth, and enhance social cohesion in Africa and beyond. Youth and organisations shall be associated with a professional programs that develop a sense of pride and of respect, with the knowledge that those involved are heading towards the right direction.
If your organisation or team is associated with the right and relevant sporting initiative, this can also help to grow support for your organisation or team and build a positive perception for the team.
